Fresh Picked Thrifts, Episode 12

The main theme this past week in thrifted finds seemed to be mostly about paper. Paper invitations, stationary, and coasters.

It made me think about the lost art of writing letters via snail mail. Yes... I know it's more green, but in the world of facebook, email, and texting our communication has totally evolved. There is something sincere and magical about getting a hand written letter. These days you're lucky to get a handwritten invitation. Call me old fashioned, but words are conveyed so differently when you imagine that person physically writing those words to you with their own hand and not by pressing a few mechanical keys. Anyways that's my complex thought of the day. Now lets get on with the finds...

These finds are from an estate sale...

That's some serious electric orange - I just love Hallmark-  new or Vintage - you can't go wrong...

What a cute baby graphic! I found a whole pack of these- unused. Makes me almost forget about pregnancy nausea.....NOT.

Over-sized card about 8 x 11... I think this would be great framed.

Coaster please...
A box of random coasters!
Dinner party? Cocktail Party? Luncheon? I'm ready.

All packaged vintage invites from Fanfare.

Bridge anyone? Bridge Tally Cards.

Some miniatures that called out to me. Rabbit's cleverly crafted out of smooth stones and a bronze mommy with her baby ducks. This gives new meaning to ski-bunny- hee hee.

And my favorite of the trip... An awesome smock labeled design house- and look who I found inside!- priceless :)

Most items (cute kid not included) to be up on shop soon!

I will be linking this post to Thrift Share Monday, Flea Market Finds, and Thrifty Love.

  5. That card with the bright orange is so much fun! I couldn't agree more with how much communication has evolved. Although with all of the acronyms that are being used it seems like we're regressing back to age of glyphs and codes!

  7. I love paper and have a hard time passing it up or passing it on. Your finds are fantastic. It is so true about the written word. Also, I still love reading a real newspaper, a real magazine, or a real book - something about feeling the paper on the fingers is just right!
